We went to Kerby Lane today to meet up with Bonny and Beth for brunch. It's funny that neither of them had their kids, and both said, "Oh bring yours, it won't be a big deal!" They are very well behaved kids, and I am truly thankful for that, and in all honesty, I do forget that every now and then, and I'm working on trying to remember that myself so I'm maybe less likely to encounter situations where it is taught to me. On the way, in the back seat, I could hear both the kids laughing and carrying on back and forth making all kinds of noises playing with each other. Music to my ears. I have go to savor this, as I know when they are older, their exchanges in the back seat are bound to not be as pleasant. Annabelle napped in the wrap, to which Bonny is very excited about using her's once Oliver comes. She woke up towards the end of brunch and nibbled on a cucumber slice and a bell pepper for a little bit before it was time to head home. When we got here, she had a wet diaper, but I put her on the pot anyway. She went right away. Then I fed her her bottle, and waited till her next pee, so I could lay her down for nap. She started to go off the potty for a bit, and when I noticed it, I put her on the potty and she finished there. I think now, she is starting to 'try' to go when we put her on the potty, and she's now learning that going on the potty is what is acceptable and not on the floor. That's the tough one to master.
Tonight, when I was rocking Annabelle, Liam wanted to come in and rock with us. He crawled up in the rocking chair as I fed her and snuggled up at my side. Between me and Phillip, we usually tag team bedtime, and while one of us feeds Annabelle, the other reads Liam a story. Tonight, we just combined them. The kids snuggled with me (which Phillip caught a picture of) and Phillip brought in The Little Red Hen to read to us all for bedtime. I think this is going to be our new tradition for bedtime.
