Today is Mother's Day. It was really great. There is a lot of talk about what Mother's day should be about, and as it may seem selfish, I like to take a break from my daily Mom grind, and just relax. I did, in the evening time, do Annabelle's first Mother's Day project. I had bought some stamping ink at the fabric store the last time we were there, and also some canvas like fabric. I stamped both of Annabelle's feet on the cloth and then wrote a little poem in between and it goes like this:
I'm following in your footsteps
and I don't want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Mommy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Mommy,
For I must follow you.
When I first read it, it almost brought tears to my eyes, and I'm glad that I found it, because when I hang it on her wall, hopefully as I see it through out the day it will help me slow down a bit.
This is what it looks like so far. I need to get some custom frames for it.
While I was doing Liam's footprints, Phillip took some really good pictures of Annabelle in her high chair, here is one of the best.
