Monday:
We woke Annabelle up from her nap and I fed her at the chiropractor's office when Ruth was seeing the dr. She ate pretty well, and didn't cry very much, just made a lot of noise. Everyone oohed and ahhed over how cute and happy she is. The massage therapist wanted to hold her when she was a little fussy with me. I thought Annabelle would really get going at that point, but to my surprise, she was pretty calm with her. She watched Liam intently as I stood by him while he was playing with legos. The receptionist said that seeing how cute Annabelle is makes her want to have babies of her own.

Sunday:
Tonight was bath night. Annabelle is really getting good at sitting up on her own and that makes bath time much easier. She uses the same blow-up bath duck tub as Liam did, and it's cute to compare the pictures. I can definitely tell them apart, but in 20 years, I think I won't be able to say that. She never really puts up too much of a fuss at bath. It's usually pretty quick, since she doesn't have much hair to wash, or body for that matter. I think he biggest bother is when she's all warm in the water, and then leans back against the side of the duck tub and feels that chill of the plastic. After bath, a dry diaper, some cozy footy pajamas, a binky and a tight swaddle and she's off. A little holding and cuddling and swaying from Dad, and that's all it takes.

Saturday:
While Phillip worked today, I decided to turn the socks I had bought into baby legs for Annabelle. They came out extremely cute! Total I made 4 pairs. I think she enjoys them, and the are very convenient. Diaper changes are a whirl since I don't have to remove pants before and after changing. Also, with cloth diapers, I usually have to put pant a size bigger to fit over her hiney.
In addition to that, while Liam napped Annabelle and I had some play time on the floor. She has officially started sitting up on her own today. She's, of course, quite wobbly, and it's wise to surround her with pillows if you have to get up, but she can hold a good sit up for almost a minute before toppling over. It's really cute, and I'm sure she's very proud. I think she was more more focused on getting those soft, squishy blocks in her mouth.

Friday:
Annabelle rolled over!!! She's been able to get halfway there, but never fully over. I left her on her stomach for a second, went to the other room and came back and she was on her back! Just like that! The second time, I caught it on video, and the third, I caught snap shots of it. What an accomplishment! She's already started to twist and turn when she's on her back, and tries to do a little ooch when she's on her stomach to move. Won't be long till she's fully mobile!

Thursday:
Annabelle is getting more and more used to spending time on the floor. She has begun to show some interest in dolls. The one that Grami and Papa got her is her favorite. She tried playing with it during tummy time, but ended up getting frustrated so I turned her over to her back and she had much more fun there.

Wednesday:
Annabelle had a sort of grouchy day today. Her morning nap wasn't all that stupendous due to being hauled around from store to store, in and out of her car seat, and then her afternoon nap was kinda broken. I think she is definitely a Binkie Baby. If the binkie falls out during her sleep, she promptly wakes up, cries, wiggles out of her swaddle, tries to get it, cries more, till Phillip or I come on and put it back in her mouth. Then, usually without any other coaxing, she rolls to her side, closes her eyes and falls back asleep. I'm hoping once she gets the hang of using her hands, she can deal with this binkie-night-time-misplacement on her own. She really does try pretty hard now, I don't think it will be long.

Tuesday:
We think Annabelle really is on the brink of teething, that, or she's pulling the 'I'm a baby and going to throw a fit for a reason you will never find out' card. Bedtime took a little while, I think it may be to me having to wake her up during two of her naps today and didn't let her sleep as long as she needed. They say that if a kid sleeps well during the day, they will sleep better at night. I don't know how accurate that is, but based on today, I would say that holds much truth. Hopefully, tomorrow and the rest of the week, I can let her do her own thing. Being a baby must be tough, all you want to do is sleep, and people just keep interrupting that...wait, I know what that's like!

Monday:
Daddy and Annabelle had 'Tummy Time' tonight. Annabelle is not a baby that enjoys being on her tummy. Not at all. Somehow, I think with many noises, smiles and much entertainment, Phillip was able to keep her amused and not crying. I came out and tried to get Annabelle's attention to smile and Phillip said, 'Don't interrupt our Tummy Time.' It was funny. They had some good time together. They say that it's really important for babies to have time on their stomachs, I don't think it should come at a cost of the kid's discomfort though. I love seeing Phillip spend time with her, it really touches my heart.

Sunday:
Today was church. Again, I am quite thankful for the baby wrap as she slept the entire service cuddled up next to mommy. Fun for me, her, and everyone around us too. Auntie Momo (Marlene) gave her the cutest little hat for Christmas, so she wore that, along with an outfit that Marlene's mom, Hylea, gave Annabelle for her baby shower. It looked adorable on her, and finally, the weather is the right temperature for it, and it fits her. Daddy had a fun time getting her dressed.

Saturday:
Annabelle had lots of tummy time today. I folded up a soft blanket into quarters to hopefully make tummy time more comfortable. Liam, of course, was great about sharing his toys, and Annabelle didn't hesitate to put them in her mouth. I really think teething is just around the corner. She's been trying to roll over, and can get to her side, but not further than that yet. At one point, even Honey joined with her and sniffed out the new little being that was now closer to her level than ever. She's been having some fun with it, but doesn't hesitate to let us know when she's done and wants to be repositioned or picked up.

Friday:
Last night when I was feeding Annabelle, I let go of the bottle and she held it herself. Soon after, the bottle dropped onto the couch. It lasted about 30 seconds, great progress, though. I asked Ruth when Liam first held his bottle but neither of us can remember. She watched TV with me for a little bit. She woke up several times during the night and woke up around 8:30 this morning.

Thursday:
Last night was the first night in a while that Annabelle has woken up in the middle of the night and needed a feeding. I hoping, and thinking, she is at the stage of sleeping through the night. That would be a relief. She still naps well, so I really don't complain too much about her sleep. Really at all. I truly know how lucky I am to have a good sleeping baby. She is quite the opposite of Liam. As she is with feeding. Liam was the easiest baby to feed. Simply give him his milk, he'd drink it, sometimes spit up, burp and then be done. She is different. Lots of squirming, lots of wiggling, back arching, etc. I've thought she may have reflux, but really, she just doesn't fit the symptoms. I think she still has some feeding issues left over that she is still learning and working through. Sometimes she is great. Especially in the middle of the night when she does happen to wake up, there is usually little hassle to it. To be honest, I usually fall asleep feeding her, and wake up to an empty bottle and a squishy sleeping baby in my arms. It's nice, I really will never forget that feeling.
I am though, trying to figure out the diaper cover situation. It seems she is wetting through the cover. I've re-lanolized both covers with twice the amount of lanolin, and am hoping that solves the problem. Cloth diapers are very interesting. Kinda fun in a way. Dad doesn't really care for them though. I'm glad we are doing it, and I think Annabelle is too, so that's all that really matters, since we are the two dealing with diapers mainly.

Wednesday:
Annabelle really has a wonderful big brother. While I was getting a roast ready in the crock pot, and Annabelle sat in her exer-saucer watching me, Liam decided that he wanted to be "nice and sweet" and share his toys again. He ran and first got his tool box of wooden tools and placed the tools around her. I thought that was cute, until he come back with his whole red tub of toys and says "you share toys with Ann-Belle, be nice and sweet!" She enjoyed the constant flow of toys that many fit nicely in her mouth. I told Liam not to give her any little toys. "Give her BIG toys.", he replied. He did, and A LOT of them. Before long, she was filled almost to her chin with trucks, balls, an airplane, toy chain links, and random figurines. She was loving it. "Ann-Belle cry bout it, uh-uh." He said as he shook his head, assuring me that she, indeed, enjoyed the surplus of toys. He neatly set to the side all the small spiders and cones that he had, and said "Gee Ann-Belle lee-lel toys, uh-uh, gee Ann-Belle BIG toys, uh-huh." Pretty soon, I think she became a little overwhelmed and gave a few uncertain cries. "Ann-Belle cry bout it uh-huh. Mommy take them out." I laughed and said I agreed, I think she may be thankful, but done sharing, and that I'd help him put the toys back in the bucket.

Tuesday:
Annabelle had quite a fun time playing with Bonnie, Violet, Beth and Ari at our play date. She, for the most part, spent much of her time in the wrap taking a little snooze, and then once she woke up got out and shared her smile with the other mamas. Bonnie told me that she's the first baby to really get her excited about having another. She did start to fuss towards the end of the stay, that was mainly due to her getting both hungry and sleepy. On the way home, we took a quick stroll around the neighborhood and she went right to sleep. Once we got home, she had her milk, and then went down for her nap. Not much to putting her down, pretty much, a tight swaddle and a binky, maybe a few pats on the hiney and cuddles and she is good to go. She was quite content.

Monday:
It was baby formula day today. 11 batches were made. Annabelle spent the majority of that time in her exer-saucer, until she got sleepy and went down for a morning nap. He's learning to grab things with her hands. She looks at the animals attached to the exer-saucer and reaches out to them. She's pulled some off before already. There is a little row of chickens inside a clear cylinder that she can spin. All their eggs get tossed and turned and she loved the clank-itty-clank noise that it makes. She is also conveniently at Liam and Honey eye level, so they occasionally stop and visit her as she runs her farm. I think she sometimes needs to take a break from milking the cow, bathing the pig, sheering the sheep, and training the horse. She's a busy gal.

Sunday:
Today we went to church. Liam usually goes to the two-year-old class and Annabelle come with me in the sanctuary. Luckily I have the baby wrap. She usually drinks one bottle, then cuddles up and sleep the rest of service. I get plenty of compliments on it and have had a few people as me how I use it and to send them info on it so they can pass it on to family members with babies.
I think I find just as much security in the wrap as she does. I love the snuggly, warm feeling of cuddling with her close and her being so completely content. It also comes in very handy when going on trips to the grocery store. I've gone to HEB once without it and almost left in the middle of the shopping trip due to having to deal with both kids and no wrap. I now keep one in my car, one at home and I have two extras in case both are dirty and need washing. She's started to chew on the side of it like Liam did, I think she may have some teeth coming in, but it's still early. Who knows, she's fully of surprises.

Saturday:
Sometimes I think I loose the thought that Annabelle is growing up, and will some day, not be a baby. Today, while holding her waiting for her bottle to warm, I began eating a banana. As I held her on my hip, and began peeling it, her little grabby hand reached out to grasp a hold on it. I know exactly what she was doing. It had been 4 hours or so since she ate last, and I know she was quite hungry, and I know she knew exactly what that banana was for....food....but not for her. I think we will wait a little while longer till we start solids. With Liam, he was quite ready at the age she is at now. He was also eating around 10 ounces each feeding. She has just graduated to around 6 ounces per feeding, and occasionally 7, especially in the morning after sleeping all night, like last night.
They really do grow up fast and I feel like I miss a lot. She is our last baby, and I'm really trying to savor every moment (the good ones of course) of having a baby in the house, and also just savoring her.

Friday:
Annabelle is hitting milestone so quickly. I forgot how fast they grow when they are this little. She's begun to try to hold her own bottle when she eats. She, of course, needs a little help here and there. And, when I'm not helping or paying attention, sometimes she does a sudden back arch and flails her arms, and her bottle goes flying, so I have to use my mommy-ninja skills to grab it before it falls.
We spent some time today, the three of us, me, Liam and Annabelle, sitting on my bed today and just laughing. I've had people tell me that she is really young to be laughing so much, but she was also early to smile and interact socially with us. I think, despite her rocky start to life, she's quite happy. I do think that she has a very sensitive personality and when she feels Mom or Dad isn't around, she kinda does a mini freak out. She definitely has to to get warmed up to people before she feels comfortable being with them with Mom and Dad out of eye sight.

Thursday:
Annabelle has such a great big brother. She's always very interested in Liam and what he is doing. When I am trying to put her to sleep, if Liam makes any sound, she immediately opens her eyes and looks around for him. She does the same thing with her Dada too. I feel she is really bonded to them. Today, Liam played with her blowing bubbles! She was a little unsure how she felt at first, but I'm sure loved the attention she got from her big brother.

Wednesday:
More and more, Annabelle is becoming very vocal. She's been laughing for quite some time now, and now has resorted to shouting gibber-gabbers. She occasionally gets tired of being held and wants some space so we put her in her exer-saucer where she likes to spin herself around, look at all the commotion going on, and grunting, cooing, howling, laughing, and hollering. I think she's going to grow up to be pretty independent.

Annabelle, Liam and I went over to Beth and Ari's house today. Annabelle stayed snuggled in the wrap the majority of the time. She ended up falling asleep and napping there for a bit. It wasn't long till she woke up and needed a change. Annabelle is definitely the baby who sometimes just needs some space. She doesn't like to co-sleep, and sleeps much better in her crib by herself. In fact, last night, she slept all night, from 8pm to 8am in the morning. When she does this, I always go in and check and make sure she is breathing, it worries me because it's so rare that it happens.

Sunday:
Today was the trip home. We ran into A LOT of snow! It was the first time Annabelle has experienced it, and I'm sure she won't remember much of it. The trip usually takes around 4 hours with one stop, while this time it took well over 5 with 3 stops. We were glad to get home safely and before dark. I'm so very thankful that she was a great sport in her car seat. We are very lucky.

Today we drove all the way to Dallas. We only had one stop for a feeding for us all ahd a potty break/diaper change. Annabelle is such a trooper in her car seat. She pretty much just slept the first leg, had her bottle when we stopped, finished it off in her car seat and then slept the rest of the way.
She did have to warm up a little bit to Gigi and Papa before she was really comforatble with them. I'm sure that her smiles and laughs are some of the best things for wonderful Grandparents to experienc.

We are coming to find out that Annabelle becomes very frustrated when she has a burp stuck in her tummy. She kinda does some arm flailing and squirming and hollering when we try and feed her with a stuck burp. Pretty soon we will be past that and she'll be burping herself.

Wednesday:
Today, we made baby formula. It's pretty time consuming and a hassle, but we feel it's best for Annabelle, especially considering all the allergies and intolerances we went through with Liam. I wish we would have known about it then. One batch of formula contains the following:
1 3/4 cups spring water
4 tbsp lactose
2 tsp gelatin
2 cups raw milk
1/4 cup whey
2 tsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp sunflower oil
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp cod liver oil
1/4 tsp acerola powder
1/4 tsp live bacteria
1 tbsp heavy cream
We usually make big batches and blend them together and freeze them in glass mason jars. Everything has to be sterilized before use, and one day of formula making has to last us about 2 week till the next milk drop.
She loves it, and most importantly, tolerates it very well. Oh the things you do for your kids!

Annabelle got new Jammies today. I've bought her 6-9 months so she can grow into them. Surprisingly they have much less wiggle room than I thought. She's gone to bed at 7:30 tonight, I'm expecting her to wake around 1am or 2am.
